Wow! Time just seems to race by. I CANNOT believe it has been so long since I last wrote to you all.  I've been working hard on my third novel, a sequel to my first novel, given five stars by a professional reviewer at Readers' Favorites.  And last week I FINALLY finished it! Been working on it since last year. I hope that my husband can get it ready for publication by the end of November, in time for the holiday season.

Right now he's trying to work on marketing (marketing is everything--even the best-written literature fades like a rose in the desert without marketing). Until recently, the only marketing he has done has been giving away my business card which describes my books on the front, with my picture, and lists some of my five-star reviews on the back.

A marketing program he began in July has resulted in an uptick in sales, thank goodness. We had hoped that the people who bought my books would leave a review on Amazon, so important to attract potential buyers, but very few have done so.  Those who have left reviews have given me really good ones, but all authors need lots of honest reviews.

Not only is Fred working on marketing, he also is getting a second (slightly revised) edition of my first book, Calbert and His Adventures, published by Aton Press and very well received (sold a lot of copies), ready for print and Kindle publication.  While doing that, he is starting to make some minor editing changes to my second novel, Rough Edges, which will be republished under a different title. It turned out that the words Rough Edges had been used in a number of other titles and we want a title that will stand out from the rest even though our book received five stars from a professional reviewer.

In my next Blog I am announcing the details of a contest for our readers.  The prize will be the winner's choice of any one of my four children's books printed by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform and listed on Amazon. The winner's prize will be signed by me (and dedicated to someone if desired by the winner). The contest will begin on October 1, 2018 and will end on November 15, 2018.

Please tell your friends.
